The drive home is quiet, all of us grown pleasantly drowsy after the day. The clouds hang low over the slim ribbon of the winding road, the sky dyed in lazy strands of peach and pink. There’s a small smile on his lips as he reaches for my hand. I sneak a peak into the back seat, where she has fallen asleep in her car seat.
